NA approves list of 44 persons subject to vote of confidence

 HÀ NỘI – The  一 五th National Assembly (NA) on October  二 四 approved a list of  四 四 persons subject to the vote of confidence at its ongoing sixth session in Hanoi.

NA Chairman Vương Đình Huệ said the organisation of the vote of confidence aims to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of the parliament’s supervisory activities and the State apparatus’s activities, help assess the prestige and performance of officials, and help them realise the confidence they are given to continue making self-improvement and bettering their performance. It is also a basis for authorised agencies to carry out personnel planning, training, appointment, and use.

Therefore, this is an important work that must be implemented in line with regulations and with democracy, objectivity, impartiality, and transparency guaranteed, he noted.

Submitting the proposed list of the persons subject to the vote of confidence, Nguyễn Thị Thanh, head of the board of NA deputies’ affairs under the NA Standing Co妹妹ittee, said that according to the NA’s Resolution No.  九 六/ 二0 二 三/QH 一 五, issued on June  二 三 this year, the parliament will hold votes of confidence on those holding the following positions: State President, Vice State President, chairperson and vice chairperson of the NA, member of the NA Standing Co妹妹ittee, NA Secretary General, chairperson of the NA’s Council for Ethnic Affairs,  chairpersons of the NA co妹妹ittees, Prime Minister, deputy prime minister, minister, other members of the Government, Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy, and Auditor General of the State Audit Office.

Clause  五 of Article  二 in the resolution also stipulates that vote of confidence will not be held for officials who are waiting for retirement or were elected/appointed in the same year the vote of confidence is conducted.

Forty-nine people are holding the positions elected or approved by the NA at present, but five officials who were elected or approved in  二0 二 三 will not be subject to the vote of confidence. Those five officials are State President Võ Văn Thưởng, Deputy Prime Minister Trần Hồng Hà, Deputy Prime Minister Trần Lưu Quang, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Đặng Quốc Khánh, and member of the NA Standing Co妹妹ittee and Chairman of the NA’s Co妹妹ittee for Financial and Budgetary Affairs Lê Quang Mạnh.

The proposed list was passed with  九 五. 三 四% of the votes. VNS
